Pasquale L. Amabile

Pasquale L. Amabile, Jr., 81, of E. Home Street, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. He was born January 4, 1928 in New Castle, a son of the late Pasquale and Marie (Vaturra) Amabile. He married Agnes (Coiro) Amabile on November 26, 1955, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Amabile retired from the Johnson Bronze as a machine operator after 32 years. He also worked for Local #964 for many years. Mr. Amabile was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the VFW, Sons of Italy, the Casa Savoy Club and the Unione Calabro Americana Society. Mr. Amabile also enjoyed playing bocci, wine making, gardening and riding his bicycle.

He is survived by three daughters, Maria DeRosa and her husband James of Boardman, OH, Angela Cotelesse and her husband Chip and Toni DePorzio and her husband Greg, all of New Castle, five sons, Michael Amabile and wife Maryann of New Castle, Carmine Amabile and partner Doug of Youngstown, OH, Leonard Amabile and wife Bo of New Castle, Norman Amabile and wife Anita of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Pasquale Amabile and wife Adrian of New Castle, PA, one brother, Carmen Amabile of New Castle, three sisters, Margaret Delliquadri of New Castle, Gloria Stanfield of New Rochelle, NY, and Theresa Macri of Pittsburgh, eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Tony, and Italy Amabile, and two sisters, Grace DiCaprio and Rose Amabile.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 4 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11:30 am at St. Vitus Church. Father James Gretz of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform a Military Funeral Service at the cemetery.
