Joseph S. Argiro, Sr., 84, of 1016 S. Cascade St., New Castle, died Saturday afternoon, June 3, 2006 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born May 14, 1922 in Hillsville, Pennsylvania the son of Frank and Mary (Famena) Argiro. They precede him in death. He married Mary Ann (Domenick) Argiro on August 27, 1949. She survives in New Castle. Mr. Argiro was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Church. He retired as a welder from Sharon Steel in Sharon, PA after 42 years. Mr. Argiro loved music and playing the accordion, he was a member of the Musicians Union in Youngstown, OH for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, 2 sons, Samuel J. Argiro and Joseph S. Argiro, Jr., both of New Castle, PA, 1 brother, John Argiro of Youngstown, OH, 3 sisters,Virginia Jacola and Ida Markovich both of Youngstown, and Inez Sinibaldi of Florida and 5 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Patsy Argiro and Frank Argiro, and his sister Rose Propri.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father Robert Schweitzer of St. Joseph the Worker Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
