Breona Irene Cugini

Breona Irene Cugini, 18, of E. Fairmont Avenue, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born October 29, 1991 in Sharon, Pennsylvania a daughter of Joe and Rosanne (Vitale) Cugini. Her parents survive in New Castle. Breona enjoyed listening to music, going to concerts and singing. She was a Make-A-Wish child who got to go on a Disney Cruise with her family and also won a contest by writing an essay about why she'd like to go to a Pirate game, she got to throw out the first pitch at a Pirate game. Breona also attended MD camp and got to make new friends at the camp. She also loved to spend her time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one brother, Joe Cugini, II of New Castle, two sisters, Michelle Cugini and Dayna Palus, both of New Castle, her maternal grandparents, Joe and Donna of New Castle, two nieces, Alexa Kumrow and Kaylee Fornataro, three nephews, Joey Cugini, III, Domenic Cugini, and Christopher Fornataro, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gregory and Irene Cugini.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 12:00 noon at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
