Anna Belle Morelli

Anna Belle Morelli, 95, of E. Elizabeth Street, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born July 19, 1914 in New Wilmington, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Chill) Cherol. She married Michael E. ‘Sparky’ Morelli on November 6, 1940. Mr. Morelli died on July 25, 1988. Mrs. Morelli was co-founder with her husband of Morelli Beverage Distributing in 1950 and worked there for over 30 years turning it over to her children and grandchildren. Prior to that she worked at Neisner's, Murphey's, Wolfe's Dress Shop and Ash Hat Company. She was a 1932 graduate of New Castle High School and a lifelong member of St. Vitus Church. Mrs. Morelli enjoyed cooking and making homemade macaroni, she was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Richard M. Morelli and his wife Michelle of West Middlesex, PA, one daughter-in-law, Sandy Morelli of New Castle, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael T. ‘Sparky’ Morelli, Sr., two brothers, Louis and James Cherol, and one sister, Philomena Cherol.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
