Mary M. Ross, 86, of Hazen Street, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born May 1, 1923 in Ellwood City, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (DeCaria) Giancola. She married Andrew Ross in September 1946, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker who enjoyed baking. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild of St. Joseph Church, the Ladies of the Dukes, and T.O.P.S.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by, three sons, Paul Ross and his wife Toni of New Castle, Jeffery Ross and his wife Jennifer of Lawrenceville, GA, and Drew Ross and his wife Annette of New Castle, one brother, John Giancola of Zelienople, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Ross, two brothers, Jack and Robert Giancola, and two sisters, Helen Masotti and Elizabeth Savelli.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 12, 2010 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
