Gloria B. Gilson

Gloria B. Gilson, 79, of 2011 Tony St., New Castle, died Wednesday morning, August 9, 2006 at her home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born December 14, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania a daughter of Ralph and Florence (Carlson) Brown. Her parents precede her in death. She was married to Elmer H. Gilson for 60 years. He survives in New Castle. Mrs. Gilson worked in the Underwriting Department at Liberty Mutual in New Castle retiring after 15 years. She was a member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church and participated in Quilt Making and the Card Club at the church. She also built a doll house for each of her children over the years and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, 6 sons, Ted Gilson of Ellwood City, PA, David Gilson of Mechanicsburg, PA, Randy Gilson of Scranton, PA, George Gilson of New Castle, PA, Rodney Gilson of New Castle, PA, Elmer R. Gilson of Concord, NC, 3 daughters, Mrs. Tim (Susan) Fruehstorfer, Mrs. Dan (Janice) Calvert, and Mrs. Robert (Gaye) Servedio, all of New Castle, PA, 1 step-sister, Nellie Alberico of New Castle, PA, 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, 2 brothers Jack Brown and Joseph Brown, her sister Alice Bilich, her granddaughter Lindsay Gilson, and her grandson Samuel Gilson.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2006 from 5-8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Yates of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
