Doris F. Parish, 74, of Root Drive, Streetsboro, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, after a short illness. She was born February 27, 1936 in Nettleton, Mississippi the daughter of the late Enix and Lorene (Knight) Haley. She was married to Glynn Parish for 55 years, he preceded her in death on July 29, 2007. Mrs. Parish was a homemaker and a radio personality for many years on WNIR in Kent, OH, known as the Trucker's Wife.
She is survived by four daughters, Lorna Mikelonis of Denton, TX, Glenda Parish Clayborn of Garrettsville, OH, Cindy Bracken and her husband Rob of New Castle, PA, and Rhonda McClusky and her husband Ray of Ravenna, OH, five brothers, Charles and Jack Haley, both of Mississippi, Jerry Haley of Arkansas, and Robert and James Haley, both of Tennessee, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Joseph Mikelonis, and one brother, Gene Haley.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Streetsboro Church of God, State Rout 43, Streetsboro, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Doris’s name to any Child Advocacy Agency of your choice. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, New Castle, PA.
