Edna L. Brown

Edna L. Brown, 89, of 214 E. Cherry St., New Castle, died Tuesday afternoon, September 5, 2006 at her daughter’s residence in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born July 28, 1917 in Stoneboro, Pennsylvania a daughter of Duncan and Goldie (McCartney) McClearn. Her parents precede her in death. She was married to John T. Brown, who died in April 1979. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker who enjoyed bingo, flower and plant gardening and bird watching.

She is survived by 5 sons, John T. Brown, Jr. of Edinburg, PA, James Brown of Ellwood City, PA, Aubrey Brown of Goldsboro, NC, Samuel Brown of New Castle, PA, and Larry Minteer of Beaver, PA, 4 daughters, Diana Lyons, Gloria Bollinger, Margaret Yhelka and Patricia Lytle all of New Castle, PA, 1 brother, Judd McClearn of Venango County, PA, 3 sisters, Beaulah Syphert of Parma Heights, OH, Dolly Schell of Cambridge Springs, PA, and Sylvia McClearn of Cambridge Springs, PA, 42 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sarah Brown, her daughter Carol George, her son Henry Brown, her son Edward Brown, a number of brothers and sisters and 2 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery in Shenango Twp..
