Robert E. Hedglin

Robert E. Hedglin, Sr., 74, of 125 W. North St., New Castle, died Wednesday morning, September 27, 2006 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born April 4, 1932 in Grove City, Pennsylvania a son of Hiram and Marie (Whinrey) Hedglin. His parents precede him in death. Mr. Hedglin worked on the railroad for Sharon Steel and retired after over 20 years of service. He was a Korean War veteran of the Army, serving with the Honor Guard for General Ridgeway. Mr. Hedglin was an avid golfer and hunter and was a member of the VFW Post 315 and the Masonic Lodge in New Castle.

He is survived by 2 sons, Robert Hedglin and William Hedglin of New Castle, PA, 2 daughters, Lynne Hedglin Hamed of Ocala, FL and Lori R. Bintrim of New Castle, PA, 1 brother, Glenn Hedglin of Greenville, PA, 3 sisters, Esther Smith of New Castle, PA, Genevieve Bowden of Poland, OH and Georgia Camera of New Wilmington, PA and 3 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Hedglin, his son Terry Hedglin, and his brother William Hedglin.

A Private Funeral Service will be held. Burial will be in Florida. Arrangements by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
