Robert L. Reeher, 75, of Game Farm Road, Scott Twp., died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his home in New Castle. He was born April 13, 1935 in New Galilee, a son of the late Leon and Jennie (Wilson) Reeher. He married Donna J. (Yargo) Reeher on December 4, 1971, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Reeher worked on a road crew for Columbia Gas retiring after 23 years. He was owner and operator of Reeher saw mill for many years, operated a dairy farm, and operated a portable welder traveling to area farms to repair machinery. Mr. Reeher was an Army veteran serving as a MP and was a former Scott Twp. Supervisor. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church of Harlansburg and was superintendent of the Sunday School and also a teacher for many years. He also served the church as a trustee and a deacon.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth E. Reeher of California, two grandchildren, Eric & Kenneth Reeher, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Carol A. (Michael) Reeher, one son, David L. Reeher, two brothers, William and Daniel Reeher, and three sisters, Carol Russell, Esther Clendenning, and Joy Murray.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Unity Baptist Church from 10 am to 11am.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 am at Unity Baptist Church, Harlansburg. Pastor Gerald Caskey of Unity Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Harlansburg. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the Cemetery.
