Antoinette C. 'Toni' Nutz

Antoinette C. ‘Toni’ Schaas Nutz, 78, of Barbara Lane, Union Twp., died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born November 8, 1931 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna (DiMatteo) Russo. She married Michael A. Nutz, Sr. on May 5, 1984, he survives in Union Twp. Mrs. Nutz was a Registered Nurse for 42 years at St. Francis Hospital, the Youth Development Center, and home health care. She was also a nurse and served as Director of Nursing at Hill View Manor. Mrs. Nutz loved to travel and go to casinos. She also was a member of Challenges and enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Joann M. Burghart and her husband Mark of W. Monroe, NY, Jean A. Slane of her husband Terry of Old Saybrook, CT, Jane A. Schaas of Jupiter, FL, and June M. Tanner and her husband Larry of Portersville, PA, one step-son, Michael A. Nutz, Jr. and his wife Patti of New Castle, and five grandchildren, Derek & Ashleigh Burghart, Mackenzie Slane, and Jeremy and Caroline Klaffer.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Fred T. Schaas, one brother, Anthony Russo, and one sister, Mary Leone.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Camillus Church. Father Thomas J. Lewandowski of St. Camillus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 am. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
