Thomas Gene Hogue, 79, of Old State Road, Slippery Rock Twp., died Friday, September 3, 2010 at Ellwood City Hospital in Ellwood City. He was born September 4, 1930 in Ellwood City, a son of the late George G. and Jessie J. (Cunningham) Hogue. He married Doris Marie (Cross) Hogue on March 14, 1952, she survives. Mr. Hogue was a heavy equipment operator for the Boro of Ellwood City retiring after over 35 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Era serving with the 81st Chemical Group. Mr. Hogue enjoyed hunting and fishing, and repairing and restoring cars.
He is survived by one son, Randy G. Hogue and his wife Angela of New Castle, one daughter, Debra M. Honaker of New Castle, one brother, Don R. Hogue of Marietta, GA, one sister, Margaret L. Pelloni of Ellwood City, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, McClelland Hogue.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Karl Moore of Keys to the Kingdom Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
