Michael A. Mozzocio

Michael A. Mozzocio, 66, of West Middlesex, PA, formerly of New Castle, died Friday afternoon, November 10, 2006 at his home in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. He was born July 20, 1940 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of Ferdinand and Tresia (Nerti) Mozzocio. His parents precede him in death. He married Janet A. (Santangelo) Mozzocio on April 1, 1994, she survives in West Middlesex. Mr. Mozzocio was a former owner of businesses in the New Castle, West Middlesex and Sharon areas. He was an avid sports fan and was one of the original founders and past president of the West Pittsburg Recreation Association. He was involved in the New Castle Amateur Softball Association in New Castle and was a little league baseball coach in West Pittsburg for many years. Mr. Mazzocio was a US Army veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, 1 daughter, Mrs. Donald (Debra) Rice of Pittsburgh, PA, 1 son, Fred Mozzocio and his wife Dawn of West Pittsburg, PA, 1 step-son, Thomas Freed of West Middlesex, PA, 1 brother, Anthony Mozzocio of New Castle, PA, 2 sisters, Ernestine Chieze of West Pittsburgh, PA and Catherine Yakapovich of New Castle, PA and 7 grandchildren, Allison DeBona, Jordan DeBona, Jared DeBona and Delaney Rice all of Pittsburgh, and Emily Mozzocio, Freddie Mozzocio, Jr. and Michael A. Mozzocio all of West Pittsburg.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Church in West Pittsburg. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
