Velma Adra Nocera

Velma Adra Nocera, 51, of Savannah Road, Shenango Twp., died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her home. She was born June 12, 1959 in New Castle, a daughter of Herbert and Patricia (Butera) Regan. Her parents survive in New Castle. She has been married to Michael J. Nocera for 32 years, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Nocera was a nurses aide at Golden Hill Nursing Home, then she graduated from the Jameson Hospital School of Nursing as an Registered Nurse. She then worked for many years as a staff nurse at Jameson Memorial Hospital ER. Mrs. Nocera then became Director of Nursing at Edison Manor Nursing Home and Providence Nursing Home in Beaver Falls. She lasted worked as a staff nurse at the Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilminton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by, two daughters, Katrina Nocera of New Castle, and Christina Norco and her husband Michael of Virginia Beach, VA, two brothers, Herbert Regan, Jr. of New Castle, and Patrick Regan of New Castle, and two sisters, Bonnie Wigton and her husband Bruce of New Castle, and Tina Frum of Columbus, OH.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father Steve Palsa of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
