Anthony ‘DoDo’ Conti, Jr., 85, of Anthem, AZ, formerly of Stanton, CA, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at A Touch of Desert Class Skilled Care Facility in Desert Hills, Arizona. He was born June 30, 1925 in New Castle, a son of the late Anthony and Alice (Simpson) Conti. He married Linda L. (Harris) Conti in 1980, she survives in Anthem, AZ. Mr. Conti retired as a 1st Sgt. in the United States Army as an Artillery Mechanic after 31 years. He received the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He then worked for the State of California as a Maintenance Mechanic for 16 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a Submariner in the South Pacific. Mr. Conti enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was a master at doing laundry and getting stains out. He was also an avid Notre Dame Football fan.

He is survived by five children, Anthony Conti, III of Edmonds, WA, Russell Conti of Riverside, CA, Patricia Conti of Riverside, CA, Debra Stewart of Tennessee, and Dino Conti of Marysville, WA, three step-sons, W. Charles Herrington of Long Beach, CA, Malcolm Herrington of Anthem, AZ, and Larry Herrington of Bell Flower, CA, two brothers, Donald ‘Duckie’ Conti and wife Sandy, and Richard 'Dickie' Conti and wife Jean, both of New Castle, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and seven step-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Eleanor (Correa) Conti, one son, Craig Conti, five brothers, Thomas, Albert 'Jabby', Louis, Carmen 'Pappy', and Fred 'Fritz' Conti, and four sisters, Margaret 'Maggie' Sinibaldi, Clara Louis, Emma Myers, and Louise Louis.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Blessing services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Steve Palsa of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home Saturday morning 9:45 A.M.
