Catherine L. Blundo

Catherine L. Blundo, 82, of Rhodes Estates, died Friday morning, November 24, 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born February 8, 1924 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of John and Christina (Ciaffa) DiGiacomo. Her parents precede her in death. She was married to Benjamin A. Blundo who died on April 10, 1981. Mrs. Blundo retired after 20 years as a secretary at the Social Security Administration in New Castle. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of Sweet Adelines and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith A. Sainato of New Castle, PA, two son, Joseph A. Blundo of Worthington, OH and Benjamin M. Blundo of New Castle, PA, two sisters, Laura Tomski of New Castle, PA and Dolly Foley of New Castle, PA and eight grandchildren, Noah and Celia Blundo of Worthington, OH and Nina & Steve Sainato and Benny, Carmen, Jimmy and Antonio Blundo all of New Castle, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Rosemary and Anna Marie Blundo, one brother Frank DiGiacomo, and one sister Sylvia Siramarco.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 27, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
