Nellie A. Arena

Nellie A. Arena, 92, W. State Street, Edinburg, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born August 18, 1918 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Enrico and Alice (Trott) Gianni. She was married to Joseph Arena who died on June 24, 2002. Mrs. Arena was a seamstress at New Castle Pants Factory for many years. She was a member of Christ the King Parish and the Christian Mothers of Christ the King Parish, and the Ladies of the Dukes. She also enjoyed playing bingo, the lottery, and gambling. Mrs. Arena was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.

She is survived by one daughter, Theresa A. Fox and her husband Donald of Edinburg, one sister, Jean Terranova of New Castle, and one granddaughter, Allison L. Fox of Edinburg.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ben Gianni, and one sister, Mary Cracraft.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville.
