Dorothy Jane Lang, 94, of Countyline Street, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Avalon Nursing Center. She was born March 6, 1916 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Emil and Mary (Cusano) Cercell. She married Fred H. Lang who died June 25, 1998. Mrs. Lang was a machinist at the Johnson Bronze during World War II. She was a server at Bailey's Restaurant for many years. In 1953 she and her husband moved to Menlo Park, CA. She worked at the Peninsula Creamery in Palo Alto, CA. She returned to New Castle in 1972 and was a cook at Popo's Restaurant and then she cook at the Eagles Club and the Wimodausis of the Scottish Rite Cathedral, she also was a Meals-on-Wheels deliverer until 2002. Mrs. Lang was a member of the Independent Methodist Church and was the churches oldest member. She resided with her sister, Virginia Caravaggio from 2003 until her death.

She is survived by two sisters, Nellie Lovaglio and Virginia Caravaggio, both of New Castle, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Jennie Singer, Rose Galanski, Mary Sacchinelli, and Peggy Vanassa, and two brothers, Michael Cercell, and Andrew Cercell.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 12 Noon to 2 P.M.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Frederick Gilbert of Independent Methodist Church will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
