Violet E. Brown

Violet E. Brown, 79, of Higley, AZ, formerly of W. North St., New Castle, died Sunday morning, January 28, 2007 at Springdale Village Nursing Home in Mesa, Arizona. She was born January 9, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Tavy and Verna Bell (Scott) Briggs. Her parents precede her in death. She was married to Earl Brown, Sr. who died on January 24, 2005. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital in Farrell and St. Francis Hospital in New Castle for many years. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church and sung with the Messiah Choir and the Community Choir of New Castle and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Venita) Wilson of Higley, AZ, one son, Earl Brown, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Mesa, AZ and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Eddie Briggs.
Visitation will be held at the 2nd Baptist Church, 537 Bell Ave., New Castle on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at the 2nd Baptist Church. Rev. Joseph Langston will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
