Katherine Freed

Katherine Freed, 96, of Haven Nursing Home, died Wednesday evening, January 31, 2007 at Haven Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born October 22, 1910 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania a daughter of Matthew and Katherine Ferketich, her parents precede her in death. She married John Freed who died on January 9, 2000. Mrs. Freed was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Alice Peterson of Milwaukee, WI, one son, John G. Freed of New Castle, PA, one sister, Madge Patterson of Beaver Falls, PA, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rev. Samuel Peterson, two brothers, John Ferketich and Andrew Ferketich, two sisters, Francis Garvin and Barbara Hornyak, and her granddaughter Bonnie Katherine Freed.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Meyer of First Assembly of God will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
