Aaron M. Sofelkanich, 44, of W. Garfield Avenue, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his residence in New Castle. He was born on November 12, 1979, in New Castle, the son of Michael E. Sofelkanich and his fiancé, Sandy Douglass of Ellwood City, and Nancyann (Wiley) Izzo and her husband Sal of New Castle. Aaron worked for Surface Design as a cement finisher for 20 years, and then was a mechanic at Tire Express. He enjoyed motocross, fishing, working on cars, anything mechanical, he could put anything together. Aaron loved his dog, Roscoe, he had a heart of gold, and he loved to do anything for anyone at any time. Aaron also had a deep compassion for people.
In addition to his parents and step-parents, he is also survived by two step-sisters, Autumn Izzo Coates and Alicia Izzo, one niece, Rosaya Baughman Izzo, two nephews, Bronx Coates and Brantley Coates, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, April 19, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
