Alto Young

Alto Young, 88, of Paul Street, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. He was born in Graceville, FL on December 2, 1935, the son of the late Grady and Mary Lee (Blue) Young. Mr. Young married Delores G. (Goode) Young on July 23, 1983, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Young worked for Lockley Machine, and then Rockwell International retiring after 31 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ and loved going to church. He was a crossing guard at JFK, enjoyed mentoring children, and will be remembered by his family as a social butterfly, who enjoyed being around people.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Victor R. Young, Deborah Young, Denise McHenry and her husband Raymond III, and Eric Young and his wife RaeLynn, nine grandchildren, two nieces, Temika Coley and Melissa Watson, and one nephew, Elisah Watson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, David M. Young, and two brothers, Ross Blue and Oliver Blue.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, 1119 S. Jefferson Street, New Castle, PA 16101. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday, March 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Ebenezer Church of God & Christ. Rev. Eric D. Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
