Anna Lepore Conte

Anna LePore Conte, 80, of E. Madison Avenue, Mahoningtown, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence in Mahoningtown. She was born in Mahoningtown on July 5, 1938 a daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Yoccabel) LePore. She was married to Robert Conte who died in 1975. Anna was the manager of Super 8 Motel in Butler for 28 years. She was also a seamstress at Mary’s Bridal in Beaver Falls and was owner and operator of Mahoning News Stand and TV Times in the ‘70’s. She enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and going with the girls on Friday’s. Anna was also on the Zoning Board, New Castle Transit Authority, Mahoning School Reunion Committee, Italian Day Festival Committee and the Mahoningtown Crime Watch Board.  She was instrumental in Restoration for City and Mahoningtown and bringing state funding for restoration for bridges, road and beautification.

She is survived by four children, John R. Conte and wife Laura of Tijuana, Mexico, Laura A. Foster and husband Bob of Charleston, SC, Annette M. Puglisi and husband Jeffrey of New York, NY and Janice L. Dean and husband Thomas of New Castle, one brother, William LePore of Hagerstown, MD, one sister, Helen Gallucci of New Castle, six grandchildren, D’Anna Harper, Jamie Vitale and Josh, Matthew Dean and Nicole, Jonathan Dean and Lauren, and Annabelle Puglisi, and three great grandchildren, Emma Jo, Jude and Juliet.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Robert LePore, one sister, Jane Schwartz and one grandson, Joseph Dean.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Family and friends are welcome. Father Frank Almade will celebrated. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
