Chad M. Gates

Chad Martin Gates, 43, died Monday, April 24, 2023 in New Castle. He was born in New Castle on December 15, 1979 a son of the late David M. Gates, and Robin M. (List) Barnes and step-father, Norman J. Barnes of Hillsville. Mr. Gates married Mysti L. (Krause) Gates on April 29, 2018, she survives in New Castle. He was self-employed for many years, working as a dry-waller and carpenter. Mr. Gates was a member of the Church of Genesis, and the Mahoning Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed going to concerts and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his son, and loved his cat, Larry.

In addition to his mother, step-father, and wife, he is also survived by one son, Alex M. Gates of New Castle, four step-children, Emily Herman of State College, PA, Christian Lewis, Sarah Lewis, and Cameron Lewis all of Pulaski, one brother, Mark Gates of Hillsville, and one sister, Jodie Harlan of Hillsville.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, May 5, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
