Christine A. Mash, 78, of S. Cedar Street, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Jameson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born on September 26, 1946, in New Castle, the daughter of the late James and Rose (Russo) Mash. Christine was a Ward Clerk in the ER and Pediatrics Departments at St. Francis Hospital, and she went on the manage a pain clinic at St. Francis Hospital retiring after 48 years. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vincent de Paul Church and was very devoted to her religion and church and participated in Novenas to St. Jude and St. Anthony. She enjoyed going to the casino and yard sales, and she enjoyed bowling. She played softball for the Mahoningtown Merchants, playing first base and catcher. Finally, she loved all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as if they were all her own.
She is survived by one sister, Madeline Rossi, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, James Mash, and two sisters, Anita Ponziani and Phyllis Runyon.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Friday, January 17, 2025, at 6:00PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Deacon John Carran will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
