Cynthia Jo Wilson Profile Photo

Cynthia "Cindy" Jo Wilson, 73, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at 9:20 PM on February 15, 2025. Born in New Castle on October 12, 1951, to Josephine E. and Philip F. DeRobbio, Sr., Cindy had an unbreakable spirit and amazing sense of humor up until the very end. Despite her small size, she was mighty and was the strongest person her family knew. She always put others before herself, even when she was struggling herself. She loved her family most, and shared with them many gifts, including her passion for cooking, her compassion, her wit, and her dedication to encouraging her loved ones in their passions.

Her Indomitable spirit lives on in those whose lives she impacted. Her family is grateful for all of the time they got to spend with her; no moment was wasted or forsaken. Her legacy goes far beyond what the eye can see — for example, though her family will miss her signature homemade dishes, they will miss the moments in between, the bits of her character that stuck in their hearts, the most. Cindy's absence leaves a large void that will be impossible to fill, but the world is a much better place with her having been in it. Her memory is a gift to all who had the honor of getting to know her. Love you mostest, our spicy meatball.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Walt R. Wilson, whom she married on June 18, 1972; their daughters (Cindy's "three roses") Marieke (Michele) Aluisia, Niki (Craig) Hale, and Kaila (Greg) Hunter; nine grandchildren Zack(Lexi), Noah(Haven), Robert, Josh, Brianna, Makenna, Caleb, Christian, and Emma; one great-grandson, Rowdy; three siblings, Judy (Joe) Pzenny, Philip "Skip" (Susan) DeRobbio, and Gail (Gary) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and many grand-dogs and grand-cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Philip "Damion" DeRobbio.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
