Deborah Ann Hammerschmidt

Deborah Ann Hammerschmidt, 70, of Hickory Township, New Castle, PA passed away on 07/11/2024 in her home surrounded by her family after extended medical complications.

She was born on 12/30/1953 and survived by her parents James R. Robinson and Margie Robinson of New Castle, PA. She was married to Jeff O. Hammerschmidt on April 18, 1987. He was always supportive and by her side throughout their 37 years of marriage.

Deborah graduated from Shenango High School in 1971 and worked at the Ronald Abraham Insurance Agency and First National Bank. Her favorite time was spent with her five grandchildren, with whom she would faithfully support during all school or sporting events. She had one furry companion, Lucy, who was her little girl. She enjoyed planting flowers, shopping, cleaning, and going on small trips with her family. She appreciated all the time she spent with her family, especially during birthday and holiday celebrations. She had a close relationship with God and his faith steadied her during her last days on this earth.

She has two sons, Jamie (Angie) McVicker of New Castle, PA, and Stephen McVicker of Ellwood City, PA. In addition, she is survived by a brother, James (Gwen) Robinson of Lagrange, OH, a sister, Terri (Russell) Riley of New Castle, PA, granddaughter, Hannah McVicker, grandsons, Jamie, Jacob, Jaxson, and Jayse McVicker all of New Castle, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Katie McVicker.

The family will be at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on July 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM to receive condolences, and a memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel.
