Dominick Aluisia, Sr., 102, of Crowe Street, Shenango Township, died Friday, April 11, 2025 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. He was born in New Castle December 25, 1922 a son of the late Dominick A. and Antoinette (Cenzori) Aluisia. He was married to the late Irene Louise (Rotunno) Aluisia who died March 23, 2022. Mr. Aluisia was a core maker in the core room of the Crane Co. and Penntex retiring after 36 years. He was an Army veteran serving in World Warr II as a Sergeant in France and Germany with the Search Light Battalion. For his service he received the French Foreign Legion Medal of Honor in August 2024. Dom enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and vegetable gardening and was a member of the VFW, Eagles Club as a Golden Member, and the Italian Sons and Daughters where he served as past President.

He is survived by three children, Linda Holtzapple and her husband Greg of Brimfield, OH, Dominick Aluisia, Jr. and his wife Krystinia of New Castle, and Patsy Aluisia and his wife Rhonda of New Castle, two sisters, Dorothy McCullough and Patricia Casino, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Patsy Aluisia and two sisters, Mary Kendra and Nancy Giannone.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 from 3 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 14, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Deacon John Carran will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
