Donald B. ‘Ducky’ Conti, Jr., 62, of Lightner Place, Neshannock Township, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Boardman, Ohio. He was born May 24, 1955 in New Castle, a son of the late Donald B. ‘Ducky’ Conti, Sr. and Rose (Costa) Conti, his mother survives in New Castle. 'Ducky' worked at the Shenango Pottery as a kiln operator for 15 years. He then worked as a board member of the State House of Representatives for 4 years and was Secretary of Lawrence County Housing Authority for 4 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Wolves Club and Ecclesian Club. He enjoyed golfing and coaching baseball. 'Ducky' was an avid New York Yankees fan, but will be remembered most as an avid Notre Dame sports’ fan.
In addition to his mother he is survived, two children, Donald B. Conti, III of New Castle, and Tara L. Houk and husband Billy of New Castle, two brothers, Mikel D. Dean and wife Cheryl of Avon, OH, and Anthony M. Conti and wife Lyn of New Castle, three grandchildren, Ryan Conti, Maci Houk, and Chase Conti, and his former wife, Gloria (Alberico) Anderson.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will be officiating.
