Donna L. Smith

Donna L. Smith, 76, of Morton Street, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was born on December 7, 1947, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marian (Hetrick) Thompson, Sr. She married Bruce C. Smith, on September 4, 1970, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Smith was a Direct Professional Support for the Lawrence County Association for Responsible Care, she worked in the Pre-school and the adult training facility, retiring after 32 years. She enjoyed doing word searches and watching the History channel, and loved her cat, Charlie. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Stacy J. Hicks and her husband Robert of Economy Boro, PA, and Jaime L. Godek and her husband Robert of Oviedo, FL, four grandchildren, Emily Hicks, Amanda Hicks, Sadie Godek, and Simon Godek, one brother, Thomas Thompson, Jr., and a number of brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 1 PM to 3 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. The family would like to thank the staff of Quality Life Services New Castle and Three Rivers Hospice for the wonderful care of their mother.
