Donna L. Vitale

Donna L. Vitale, 96, formerly of E. Elizabeth St., died Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Mrs. Vitale was born in Whiting, IN on October 31, 1927, the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Thompson) Heasley. She was married to the late Joseph D. Vitale, who died on March 29, 2013. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Mary’s. She loved to make family photo albums and collages. She also enjoyed music and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by four daughters, Rosanne Cugini and her husband Joe, Joni L. Cugini, Bonita M. Morgan and her husband Anthony all of New Castle, and Mary Jo Anderson of Hazleton, PA, one sister, Bonnie Valline of Iowa, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Anthony ‘Bum’ Cugini, one granddaughter, Breona Cugini, three brothers, Harry Heasley, James ‘Babe’ Heasley, and Robert Heasley, two sister-in-laws, Josephine Heasley and Lucille Vitale Padias, and one brother-in-law, Dan Valline.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Friday, January 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
