Dorothy M. Malizia

Dorothy M. Malizia, 93, of Addis Street died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born on November 29, 1929, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Floyd and Madeline (Frank) Champ. She was married to the late Lester D. Malizia, who died on February 27, 2007. Mrs. Malizia was the owner and operator of Villanova Inn where she worked as a cook, retiring after 20 years. She also was a waitress at local restaurants and worked at the New Castle school in the cafeteria for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, but above all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Maureen A. Donaldson and her companion Frank Turco and Floyd T. Malizia and his wife Lisa both of New Castle, two grandchildren, Brandon P. Donaldson and Ashlee N. Sidorchuk and her husband Ryan, and three great-grandchildren, Charlee, Maverick, and Remi.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Lester D. Malizia and one granddaughter, Gabrielle E. Malizia.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Father Ben Barr will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
