Dorothy E. Ortiz

Dorothy E. Ortiz, 82, of Zinfandel Lane, died December 2, 2024, at her residence in Neshannock Township. She was born in New Castle, PA, on July 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Martha (Rice) Strayer. Mrs. Ortiz was a prep cook and dishwasher for Hudson Lunch and Isaly’s in the West Gate Plaza for a number of years. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, bowling, cooking, and above all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by six children, Michael A. Ortiz and his wife Bonnie of Edinburg, Florence E. Robinson and her husband Clint of Edinburg, Phillip A. Ortiz of Pittsburgh, Helen E. Diehl of Baltimore, MD, Rose A. Ortiz and her husband Dan Wright of New Castle, and Dorothy E. Ortiz of Pittsburgh, one sister, Martha Graham and her husband Clarence of New Castle, fourteen grandchildren, and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Miguel R. Ortiz, one daughter, Mary Jane Ortiz, and a number of brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, from 3 PM to 5 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, December 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
