Eugene J. Chiarini

Eugene J. Chiarini, 92, of East Lutton Street, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born May 30, 1925 in Mooween, Pennsylvania a son of the late Tom and Lucy (Conto) Chiarini. He was married to Margaret J. (Zamberlan) Chiarini on July 6, 1950, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Chiarini was a welding inspector at Pullman Standard for 11 years. He also worked in maintenance at St. Joseph Nursing Home for 10 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II in Europe and the Korean War. He retired from the Army after serving 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of the NRA.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five children, Gary Chiarini and wife Ruthann of New Castle, Denise Scungio of Oregon, Pamela Letera and husband William of New Castle, Lori Barlett and husband Mark of New Castle, and Lisa Kern and husband Robert of Las Vegas, NV, one brother, Leonard Chiarini of New Castle, one sister, Betty Walker of Bakersfield, CA, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Charini, Edward Chiarini, and Thomas Chiarini.
Private services were held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
