Floyd G. Mastren, Sr., 76, of Friendship Street, New Castle, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in New Castle on May 30, 1942, a son of the late Robert and Helen (Venditto) Mastren. Mr. Mastren worked in the foundry of the Crane Company for 18 years, then at Catholic Cemeteries of Lawrence County, and he retired from WalMart after 10 years in maintenance. He was an Army Reserve veteran. Floyd enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and going to Mountaineer Casino. He loved being around people, especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by five children, Marie A. Fadely and her husband William, Floyd G. Mastren, Jr. and his wife Danielle, Arlene R. Magliocca and her husband James, Vincent P. Mastren and his wife Cathy and Robert J. Mastren and his wife Stacey, all of New Castle, one brother, August Mastren of New Castle, one sister, Helen Janis of Courtland, OH, nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Casimir, Benny, and Mario Mastren, and five sisters, Mary Bullano, Phyllis Mastren, Lillian Kalodgy, and two infant sisters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Vitus Church. Father Anthony Sciarappa will celebrate. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
