Gloria J. Gennock

Gloria J. Gennock, 84, formerly of Harrison Street, died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was born on April 3, 1940, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Anthony ‘Wally’ and Mary (Barlett) Sperduti. Ms. Gennock worked in the Children’s department of Strousse’s for a number of years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus, and she loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved her cats, and loved cooking for her family.

She is survived by four sons, David Gennock and his wife Cheryl of New Castle, Anthony Gennock, III, and his wife Debbie of Huntington Beach, CA, Thomas Gennock and his wife Sherrie of New Castle, and Joseph Gennock and his wife Michele of New Castle, six grandchildren, Ashley Popa and her husband Marius, Nichole Gennock, Tommy Gennock, Rachael Green and her husband Anton, Alyssa Gennock, and Gabriella Gennock, and three great-grandchildren, Antonio Popa, Luca Popa, and Myles Gennock.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband, Anthony Gennock, Jr., who died on March 21, 2014, and four sisters, Theresa Mastrangelo, Delores Genareo, Anna DeVidio, and Virginia Sperduti.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Willliam F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
