Hannah L. Hawes, 96, of W. Northview Avenue died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Knoxville, TN on September 29, 1925 a daughter of the late Willie and Casandra (Tipton) Finley. She was married to the late Cecil C. Hawes, who died April 22, 1985. Mrs. Hawes was a nurse’s aide at Avalon Nursing Home. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Advent Group and treasurer of the Advent Group, a member of the Red Hat Society, Veteran’s Society, and Life of Lawrence County.

She was survived by three children, Julia Tillia and husband Charles of Slippery Rock, Nancy Oakes of Dallas, TX, and Rebecca Cameron and husband John of Bessemer, one sister Marie McComas of Rogers, OH, sixteen grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren, and nineteen great-greatgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two children, Cledia Haines and Shirley D’Aurio, four brothers, Limon Finley, Beacher Finley, John Finley, and Joe Finley, two sisters, Nadine Disman and Lorene Zona, and four grandchildren, Sandy Lawton, Melinda Robinson, Leandra Robinson, and Denethia Robinson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4PM to 5:30PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 5:30PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jeff McKay will officiate.
