Helen M. Trott

Helen M. Trott, 89, of E. Meyer Avenue died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Jameson Care Center in New Castle. Helen would have been turning 90 years old on July 29, 2024, as she was born on July 29, 1934, in Butler, PA the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Catherine (Crouch) Heller. Mrs. Trott is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Trott. She worked at Golden Hill Nursing Home for 25 years as a launderist, and then worked at St. Francis Hospital as a launderist as well. She then worked at Jameson Hospital in the hostess shop for over 15 years. Mrs. Trott liked her scratch off tickets and going to the casino. She also loved to sew, and would make her children’s clothes when they were younger. Above all, Helen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she loved to cook and bake for them every Sunday.

She is survived by six children, James D. Trott of New Castle, Tina DeRosa of Volant, PA, Bobbi Jo Kotler and her husband Fabian of Farmington, PA, Barb Speicher and her husband Marvin of New Castle,Janet Jones, and Margie Trott, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one brother, Paul Heller, and three sisters, Jane Gish, Alma Heller, and Althea Martino.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five children, Michael Trott, Mark Trott, Steven Trott, Robert Trott, and Judy Carbone, four brothers, Bobby Heller, Donald Heller, William Heller, and Richard Heller, and three sisters, Dorothy King, Nancy Thompson, and Charlotte Dibiase.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 PM. The family would like to thank Dr. Albert Acosta and his staff for their care and compassion, and also a special thank you to her caregivers Jen, Sheila, Carlitta, and Michelle for the great care they gave our Mom.
