James E. Moore, 85, of W. Wallace Avenue, died Friday, August 23,2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born in Greensburg, PA on January 31, 1939, the son of the late John and Sarah (Keller) Moore. Mr. Moore married Martha ‘June’ (Panella) Moore, on May 23, 1968, she survives at home. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked on a railroad in St. Louis for a number of years, after that he worked for the New Castle Transit Authority for 6 years as a bus driver, and then worked for Continental Packaging as a Foreman and Supervisor for eight years. Mr. Moore enjoyed tinkering with and fixing cars, always wanted to help everyone fix anything. James also enjoyed yard work, building bird houses, and fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Jamie M. Haines and her wife Dr. Shana Haines of Franklin, PA, Kelly Jo Clark of New Castle, and Michael C.J. Moore and his wife Jennifer of New Castle, three grandchildren, Anthony ‘AJ’ Clark, Gracelyn Moore, and Isabella Moore, and two brothers, Kenneth Moore of New Castle, and Thomas Moore of Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, John Moore, Frank Moore, George Moore, and Roy Moore, and one sister, Alberta Davis.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 6:00 at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bill Rupert, of Life Changing Ministries, will officiate.
