Joanne Pezzuti

Joanne Pezzuti, 72, of Beckford Street, died Thursday, August 17, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. She was born in New Castle on March 5, 1951, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Dellaverson) Ginocchi. She married John A. Pezzuti on September 2, 1972, he survives in New Castle. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus. Mrs. Pezzuti was an LPN and worked at the Haven Convalescent Home and Avalon Nursing Home in the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Unit, retiring after 36 years. Mrs. Pezzuti was a cat rescuer, a member of Lawrence County Animal Rescue Fund, and loved her cats and dogs. She enjoyed bowling, and loved going to the beach and traveling, especially out west to Las Vegas, California, Arizona, and Utah. She especially loved raising her daughter’s, and spending time with them.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jonalyn Pezzuti and Jamielynn Pezzuti both of New Castle, and one brother, Richard Ginocchi and his wife Angel of Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, John V. Ihlenfeld and one nephew, Richard Joseph Ginocchi.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Deacon John Carran will officiate.
