John H. Slagle

John H. Slagle, 62, of Carnay Lane died Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his residence in Edinburg. He was born in New Castle on September 27, 1960, a son of Harold ‘Butch’ Slagle and the late Eileen (Lutton) Slagle, his father survives in New Castle. Mr. Slagle loved spending time with his dog, who he took with him everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who were his world. He would go to almost every football and baseball game for his grandson. His family will remember him as a loving, caring, and funny guy who always tried to make everyone laugh, and who always left a lasting imprint on everyone that has met him.

In addition to his father, he is survived by three daughters, Chelsea Slagle and her fiancé Devin Sims, Holly Slagle and her boyfriend Tenique Booker, and Hannah Slagle and her boyfriend Michael Bobosky all of New Castle, four grandchildren, Michael Slagle, Jayce Sims, Jovie Sims, and Kane Booker, three brothers, Tim Slagle and his wife Renee, Robert Slagle and his wife Melissa, and Rick Slagle and his wife Stacey all of New Castle, two sisters, Charlene DiCarlo and her husband Anthony, and Nancy Stalma and her husband Russell both of New Castle, his former spouse, Jamie Veri, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kristopher Stalma, Mr. Slagle’s nephew, will officiate.
