Larry E. Downing

Larry Edward Downing, 66, of Cameron Road, Hickory Township, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. He was born in New Castle on December 20, 1956, a son of the late Everett E. Downing and Marilyn J. (Smith) Downing, his mother survives in New Castle. He was married to Deborah J. (Graham) Downing on August 30, 1979, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Downing was a cabinet maker at Downing Cabinets for 30 years, he was then a forklift operator at Veka in Fombell, PA for several years. He was a member of the Faith Country Chapel and a trustee of the church and enjoyed bowling and woodworking. Larry also loved spending time with his grandsons.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two children, Matthew J. Downing and Amie J. Downing both of New Castle, two grandsons, Dominick and Lucca Jerome, and four brothers, Everett E. Downing, Jr., Dennis K. Downing, Timothy G. Downing and Gerald M. Downing.

He was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Sarah Faith Downing.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 5 PM to 6 PM at the Faith Country Chapel, 3818 Old Butler Road, New Castle, PA  16101. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the church, Pastor Jason Doolittle will officiate. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
