Laura Perrett, 95, of N. Cedar Street died Thursday, April 6, 2023 at her residence in New Castle. She was born on November 10, 1927, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Augustine and Eleanor (Razzano) Russo. Mrs. Perrett married Anthony ‘Dudey’ Perrett on June 29, 1946, they were married for over 60 years before his passing in 2009. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul, and was very involved in the church. She worked at Sears in shipping and receiving for 16 years. Mrs. Perrett enjoyed cooking, baking, chocolate, and playing cards, especially Pinochle with her family. Above all she loved being with her family and made them her #1 priority her entire life.

She is survived by two daughters, Maryann Pugliese and her husband Patrick of Henderson, NV, and Terri Lee Haney and her husband James of New Castle, four grandchildren, Donielle DeJohn and her husband David of Pulaski, Paul Anthony Faella of Concord, NH, Tiffanie Beckert-Covert and her husband Brian of New Castle, and Marnae Schlager of New Castle, one great-grandson, Michael Anthony DeJohn, and two sisters, Eleanor Trott and Jennie Guido both of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Patrick DeJohn, one brother, Alexander Russo, and five sisters, Florence Ludovici, Angeline Cassachia, Concetta Johns, Josephine Russo, and Katie Palumbo.

Private visitations will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus. Father Ben Barr will officiate. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 AM.
