Marcia S. Anderson

Marcia S. Anderson, 81, of Muzzy Drive, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at John the XXIII Nursing Home in Hermitage, PA. She was born in Plain Grove, PA, on April 5, 1942, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Margaret (Hilderbrandt) Saniga. She married Mr. Leroy M. Anderson on August 24, 1963, Mr. Anderson survives at home. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish in Slippery Rock. Mrs. Anderson was the Director of Adult Literacy in Lawrence County, retiring after over 25 years. She was a member of many boards and organizations and was also the past president of the Laural Area School Board. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed traveling, cross stitch, knitting, and loved reading.

In addition to her husband, she was also survived by three sons, John R. Anderson and his wife Rose of Albuquerque, NM, Jeffry M. Anderson and his wife Cheryl of Springfield, OR, and Aaron J. Anderson and his wife Jill of New Castle, and one granddaughter, Lydia R. Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Saniga and Donald Saniga.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Harrisville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, www.imaginationlibrary.com.
