Maria Teresa Cubellis

Maria Teresa (Lombardo) Cubellis, 86, born on May 29, 1937 in McKeesport, PA, passed away August 1, 2023 in Houston, TX. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano Lombardo and Margherita (Perrotta) Lombardo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank ‘Fats’ Cubellis. Mrs. Cubellis was a dedicated daughter, wife, and mother. She put her family above everything else, all the time. In 2019, she moved from New Castle, PA down to Houston, TX to be closer to her son and granddaughters so the girls could enjoy spending time with their Nonna. She definitely made her mark in her final years when everyone came to know Nonna and feel honored to have met her.

She is survived by her son, Guido (Guy) Cubellis of Houston, TX and her daughter-in-law, Darlene Cubellis of New Castle, PA. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Zuri Cubellis, Peyton Cubellis, Xana Cubellis, and Callie Cubellis, all of Houston, TX, two step-grandchildren, Tessa Adelekan and Johnnal Fuqua, and two step-great grandchildren, Savannah and Arin Bryant.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Connie Lombardo, and her son, Frank Cubellis, Jr.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus at 10:30 AM. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
