Mary R. Farone

Mary R. Farone, 91, of Villa Maria Township, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. John the XXIII in Hermitage, PA. She was born in Abingdon, IL, on November 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Pidro) Burzachechi. She was married to the late Joseph P. Farone, who died on June 17, 2014. Mrs. Farone worked as a cashier at Sears in Town Mall, and then worked in the New Castle Area Schools cafeterias. She also made wedding cakes for a number of years and was a wonderful baker and cook. Mrs. Farone was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening. Most of all, she loved the Lord, her children, her family, and people.

She is survived by five children, Andrea M. Bryant and her husband Richard of New Castle, Karen L. Carothers and her husband John of Girard, OH, Joseph Farone of Canton, NC, Leann Wilson and her husband Brian of New Castle, and Alissa Buelow and her husband Dr. Mark Buelow of Flemington, NJ, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Carmen Burzachechi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus Church. Father Ben Barr will officiate. Following mass, visitation will be celebrated Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
