Michael R. Lastoria, 86, of Meegan Avenue in Union Township, died Saturday, July 1, 2023 at his residence in New Castle. He was born in June 28, 1937 in New Castle a son of the late Jesse and Viola (Reda) Lastoria. Mr. Lastoria was married to the late Sally (Boughter) Lastoria, who died April 23, 2015. Mr. Lastoria was retired from the Union School District where he worked as a custodian, and was also owner and operator of a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck for many years. Mr. Lastoria was a United States Marine Veteran, serving in the reserves. He was a member of Grace Bible Church where he served as an Elder and loved reading the Bible and attending church. He enjoyed gardening, going to car shows, and was an avid Steelers, Pirates, and WWE fan. Mr. Lastoria loved helping people and volunteered at the City Rescue Mission. He also would buy and donate wheelchairs and walkers to people in need. He loved feeding all of the stray animals, and he will be missed by his special housemate, Mr. Kitty. Above all, loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two children, Tyrone Lastoria and his wife Joanna of Aliquippa, and Kevin Lastoria and his wife Frances of New Castle, three grandchildren, Natalie Spang and her husband Steven of Pittsburgh, Brad Lastoria and his wife Aline of Orlando, FL, and Tim Lastoria of Pittsburgh, five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kailin, Caleb, Alyvia, and Camila, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Lastoria.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor John Coomber will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
