Nancie Lee DeRosa, 94, formerly of East Washington Street, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born September 21, 1924 in Hubbard, Ohio a daughter of the late Benjamin and Josephine (DiTommasso) Perrotta. She was married to the late James V. ‘Jimmy’ DeRosa who died February 27, 2010. Mrs. DeRosa was a clerk at Nickle's Bakery retiring after 34 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking, cooking everything homemade and from scratch. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Justin James DeRosa and his wife Julie of Burbank, CA, Robbie A. DeRosa and fiancé Karen Restak of New Castle, and Sheridan L. Blundo and husband Ben of New Castle, eight grandchildren, Jamie DeRosa, Michael C. DeRosa, Allison DeRosa, Anna Marie Spires, Benny Blundo, Carmen Blundo, Jimmy Blundo, and Antonio Blundo, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph 'Duke' Perrotta, Benjamin Perrotta, Steve 'Sonny' Perrotta, and James 'Jimmy Jazz' Perrotta, three sisters, Ann Russo, Mary Chill, and Antoinette Edwards, and her granddaughter, Alicia DeRosa.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Blessing services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Deacon John Carran will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
