Nina C. McAdams, 75, of Cambridge Street, died Saturday, March 9, 2024, at her residence in New Castle. She was born on November 14, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Sturdivant) McAdams. Miss McAdams was a Spanish teacher in Painesville, OH, and directed school plays and coached the boys wrestling team. She then worked for Kaiser Engineering in Oakland, CA as a Technical Proofreader. When she came back to New Castle, she worked at Lynn’s Hallmark in the Town Mall, and was a substitute teacher for the New Castle Area School Districts. She then worked at Verizon as a Call Center Agent, retiring after 15 years. She enjoyed reading, surfing the internet, and loved her cat, Dot. Above all, she loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is survived by four nieces and nephews, Chris McAdams and his wife Carrie, Lindsay Brigham and her husband Adam, Amanda Mayberry and her husband Gary, and James McAdams and his wife Jennifer, eleven great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandon Mayberry and his wife Ashley, Allison Mayberry, A.J. Brigham, Ryan Brigham, Macey McAdams, Ally McAdams, Jace McAdams, Katelyn McAdams, Alanna McAdams, Jackson McAdams, and Ryann McAdams, and one sister-in-law, Carmie McAdams.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, George McAdams and James McAdams.
A private graveside service will be celebrated at Oak Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
