Olive Ida Ball, 81, formerly of Phillips Street, died Friday, May 3, 2019 at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born June 5, 1937 in Burghill, Ohio a daughter of the late Ray and Goldie (Sweigert) Bartholomew. She was married to the late Elmer M. Ball who died June 23, 1976. Mrs. Ball was a nurses aid at Golden Hill Nursing Home for a number of years and she enjoyed going to garage and yard sales.
She is survived by two sons, Greg R. Ball of New Castle, and Christopher K. Ball and his wife Lori of New Castle, one brother, Ray Bartholomew of Holiday, FL, one sister, Mildred Livingston of New Castle, one granddaughter, Jamie Redman, and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Gabriel Redman.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Carl, and Roy Bartholomew, and four sisters, Minerva Durkey, Arvilla Heden, Ethel Stevens, and Donna Broadwater.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6 PM to 7 PM.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Patrick Fraser will be officiating.
